Windsor Castle – one of the Queen’s favorite retreats – was built in the 11th century and is the oldest and largest continually occupied castle in Europe. The House of Windsor formerly known as the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha formally established by George V in 1917, each Windsor monarch has contributed to the lasting legacy of the modern monarchy. The selective 24-carat gold plated coin depicts the Round Tower of Windsor Castle and the four monarchs of the House of Windsor (George V, Edward VIII, George VI and Elizabeth II). The special obverse design of the coin features the rose, thistle, leek, and shamrock—symbols of Great Britain and the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin presented in a prestige premium package with an individually numbered Certificate of Authority.
