The Royal Canadian Mint released the 2017 Feng Shui Good Luck Charms Pure Silver Coin with a face value of $8. The coin features the mystical Pi Yao or Pixiu, the ultimate Feng Shui cure to draw wealth from all directions. This celestial guardian and symbol of fortune is one of the several powerful themes that come together on both sides of this, where a square hole pierced through the center a traditional motif used in Chinese minting to represent the Earth and the national landmass. The denomination and mintage numbers are very special as number 8 considered to be the luckiest number in Chinese culture. The coin is encapsulated and shipped in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clam shell with a black beauty box including an individually-numbered certificate of authenticity from The Royal Canadian Mint.
The 2017 Feng Shui Pi Yao Pixiu Lions Good Luck coin crafted from 99.99% pure silver and weighs 20.86 gram. This coin having a limited mintage of 6,888 worldwide. The obverse design by Canadian artist Charles Vinh combines a number of auspicious Chinese themes including Two Pi Yao figures stand on either side of the hole to confer a powerful blessing for everlasting prosperity, good fortune and wealth. The rounded shape of the Wu Lou gourd is depicted on the reverse and the obverse, where this centuries-old representation of longevity and health appears alongside the ornamental Chinese knots that speak of endless felicity.
