2017 Ghostbusters™ Crew 1oz Silver Coin from The Perth Mint

The Perth Mint released the Ghostbusters™ Crew 2017 1oz Silver Coin. The “Ghostbusters – Crew” is the first edition of the “Ghostbusters” coin series. This silver coin is a tribute to the American supernatural comedy film Ghostbusters™ released in 1984 that follows the story of three doctors working in the Paranormal Studies Department of Columbia University in New York.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, the coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu. Only 5,000 of the 2017 Ghostbusters™ – Crew 1oz Silver Coin will be released worldwide. The iconic ‘no ghost’ symbol, synonymous with the franchise, dominates the top of the coin and the coin depicts Dr. Spengler, Dr. Stantz, and Dr. Venkman as they appeared in Ghostbusters, against a backdrop of New York City and a green coloured sky. The obverse portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley’s effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2017-year date, and the coin denomination. The coin is presented in a black and green themed display case featuring the words ‘WHO YA GONNA CALL?’ on the outside of the case and is accompanied by a serialised Certificate of Authenticity.
