British Royal Mint introduced the Landmarks of Britain series of coins in 2017. The first edition features the landmark of London- Big Ben on the front of the coin, and the fineness and the fine weight, .999 fine silver and 1 Troy oz. The obverse features the latest coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark, and the face value is inscribed on this side.
Big Ben originally referred to the Great Bell in the Elizabeth Tower at Westminster Palace in London. The tower was completed in 1859 standing 315 ft. tall and is recognized worldwide as a symbol of the city of London. This is the first in a series of four coins to celebrate the Landmarks of Britain with a limited mintage of 50000 coins worldwide.
