2017 Whispering Maple Leaves 3 oz. Gold Plated Pure Silver Coin

The Royal Canadian Mint launched its first-ever 3 troy ounce reverse gold plated silver coin – The 2017 $50 Whispering Maple Leaves. The Royal Canadian Mint introduced the first Silver Maple Leaf in 1988 and since then the Silver maple leaf’s were one of the best sellers in RCM history. The 2017 Whispering Maple Leaves having Gold plating throughout the reverse and obverse, which gives this 99.99% pure silver coin the appearance of a gold coin.

The reverse design by Canadian artist Calder Moore features a cluster of beautifully stylized maple leaves blows across the coin’s huge 55mm surface. All of the leaves are in rich, magnificent gold tone aside from the starkly beautiful central silver maple leaf design, which boldly stands out from the rest of the gold plated design. The center maple leaf beautifully engraved to give it a sharp-edged, geometric appearance, the leaf is a fascinating new take on Canada’s national emblem. The reverse gold-plated obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt (P) with the coin face value.

The 2017 $50 Whispering Maple Leaves coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clamshell with a black beauty box. The coin having a limited mintage of just 3,500 worldwide and shipped with serialized certificate of authority.
