Frederick Douglass National Historic Site 2017 Quarter Set
The United States Mint launched D.C.Frederick Douglass Quarters, Three-Coin Sets on Monday, April 24 honoring Frederick Douglass National Historic Site in Washington. The collector product includes an uncirculated quarter from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints and a proof quarter from the San Francisco Mint.
The 2017 America the Beautiful Quarters Three–Coin Set™ Frederick Douglass National Historic Site is the second in 2017 and the 37th overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program.
The reverse (tails) design depicts Frederick Douglass seated at a writing desk, with his home in Washington, DC, in the background. Inscriptions are “FREDERICK DOUGLASS,” “DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA,” “2017,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
Each three–coin set features an uncirculated quarter from the Philadelphia Mint, an uncirculated quarter from the Denver Mint, and a proof quarter from the San Francisco Mint. The coins are held in a durable plastic card that features a picturesque image and a brief description of the site and the coin, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity on the back of the card.
