The Perth Mint of Australia has released a 3-coin “trilogy” made of precious metals and rare “Argyle pink diamonds” for the astonishing price of $1.8 Million Australian dollars approximately US $1.36 Million. This series very special as it’s a never-to-be-repeated release with an official limited mintage of just one set of coins. According to the Perth Mint, The Australian Trilogy is the most magnificent Australian Three-Coin Set ever created and this is a stunning blend of nation’s natural treasures. Each coin is hand set with a natural fancy colored diamond from Rio Tinto’s Argyle Diamond Mine.
Trilogy combines three 2017 coins from our iconic Australian animal series. Each coin is struck from one-kilogram (35.274 ounces) and features Australian Kookaburra is made from 9999 gold; the Australian Kangaroo from 9995 platinum; and the Australian Koala from a delightful shade of 22 carat rose gold. Each coin also includes a title inscription, the 2017 year-date, the weight, fineness and metal and the Perth Mint’s traditional P Mint mark. Confirming its status as official legal tender of Australia, each coin also displays the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by the great artist Ian Rank Broadley on its obverse.
Australian Kookaburra features Australian Kangaroo with an emerald cut 0.46 carat Fancy Dark Gray-Violet and the. Kookaburra coin crafted from .9999 fine gold with a round brilliant cut 0.47 carat Fancy Deep Purple-Pink Diamond featuring two kookaburras perched on a wooden fence The Australian Kangaroo coin crafted from .9995 fine platinum and an emerald cut 0.46 carat Fancy Dark Gray-Violet diamond and portrays the iconic animal bounding across an outback plain. Koala coin shows the native marsupial in a rural landscape between a eucalyptus tree and a 0.58-carat emerald cut fancy intense pink diamond. This special edition is available for sale for the RRP of $1.8 million and will be on display in The Perth Mint Shop at 310 Hay Street, East Perth throughout June or until a buyer secures it.
