Canadian artist Alan Daniel created a dramatic first-person perspective of the turmoil and danger through which our troops pressed on during the ill-fated amphibian raid on the enemy-occupied port of Dieppe, France on the fateful morning of August 19, 1942. The obverse features the effigy of King George VI by T. H. Paget. The coin features a first-person perspective of the landing at White Beach, which is engraved in outstanding detail and with great care to ensure a high degree of historical accuracy. The image of a Canadian soldier clutching his Lee Enfield rifle in one hand and urging his comrades to advance into action.
